Another picture perfect weekend

I have taken advantage of the cold front that passed through Thursday and spent some time outside this weekend. Yard work, chair building, etc. We had our neighbors over for "brisket 2.0", it was even better than the first attempt. Woke up after 4 hours sleep at 4am Friday to fire up the shrine, 14 hours on the smoker yielded some fork tender beef.



I stayed up Friday night until 4 am writing my previous post. At 5 am I woke up. My neighbor thanked me for the bbq with a fishing trip on Lake Houston, which is right down the street from our house. Dave, Christian (neighbors 15 yr old son) and I set out at 6 am. We caught some catfish, nothing too special, and I even hooked a little snapping turtle. I saw some Water Moccasins (poisonous snake) and a gator. I think he was pretty small. Maybe 4 ft. Anyway, had a lot of fun. I am dog tired though. I am going to bed now. I think I'll wake up some time in November.
