Why dads shouldn't cut finger nails

Oh boy. I am so mad at myself. I decided to try cutting his nails. The light was bad and I was nervous. I grabbed a hunk of finger instead of nail. Candice was ?glad? that I was the first to hurt him. It's like moving furniture in to a friends newly built house. You want him to ding the wall first so if you do it later it won't be as bad. He's a bit of a bleeder. I don't have baby band-aids so I improvised with a tissue and scotch tape. I'm sure it won't be the last time I accidentally wound him. Sigh...

Oh! I was so scared to cut Steven so I just filed his nails for the first 2 months of his life. :-)

ahh sad! At least you didn't chop his finger off :) hehe.. anyway from the pics it looks like he slept through the whole thing so no harm done right? :)

Hi Keith! You don't know me but I just dinged my 6-week-old's finger for the first (& hopefully last) time, and as she's resting on my shoulder, popped "baby cut finger nails" into google, and your link came up. Makes me feel better to know I am not alone. I read your post title to my hubby and he said "Seeeeee?" He's great but tiny nail-clipping terrifies him. Ah, with reason. Congrats on your newest bundle of joy and I wish you better days in baby nail shortening! Cheers, KC
