Not AS tired...
Remington slept exactly according to schedule last night only waking up at midnight, two, six and eight. I didn't even have to take a nap today and I actually got to eat breakfast and shower before 10am. I have yet to complete my makeup (which I think is poisoning me, btw) and my hair as been in a perpetual state of ponytail for almost 3 weeks. I don't understand how women manage a house, more than one kid, meals, a job, or anything else with a newborn. Last night before bed, I realized it was the first time my soul had felt tired. What a yucky feeling.

Holy Poop!
Keith here. I never thought I'd be excited about poop. I'm kind of a poop-a-phobic. I don't like anything about it. I know some people can have a conversation with someone while takin' care of business either in person or on the phone. I, on the other hand, am like that little kid in diapers who hides in a closet while he's grunting one out. Too much info, maybe. But with Rem, I grin when he dukes. I get all excited when it is the right color and if there is a lot of it. Weird huh. It's the only way I know he is eating enough so I get ecstatic about it. Crazy.
Why dads shouldn't cut finger nails
Oh boy. I am so mad at myself. I decided to try cutting his nails. The light was bad and I was nervous. I grabbed a hunk of finger instead of nail. Candice was ?glad? that I was the first to hurt him. It's like moving furniture in to a friends newly built house. You want him to ding the wall first so if you do it later it won't be as bad. He's a bit of a bleeder. I don't have baby band-aids so I improvised with a tissue and scotch tape. I'm sure it won't be the last time I accidentally wound him. Sigh...

You asked for it...
Happy Birthday Emily!
Tomorrow little Emily Rose turns six years old! She has been around almost as long as Keith and I have been married, so it's easy to remember her age. Emily has been a constant source of laughter. Her vocabulary has always impressed me and her ability to quote movies is astonishing. From: 'I'll get my power back' (Swan Princess) to 'Hey, smart ass'(A Christmas Story) she always keeps us in stitches. When she was three, she told Danielle 'You're dumb, I'm smart, you're big, I'm small, you're tough, I'm strong, and there's nothing you can do about it!'
Em has always been a easy kid to shop for, buy anything princess related and you have one happy kid on your hands.
I am sad we have missed out on the last few years living so far away, but I can't wait until this summer when she will be able to meet her little nephew Remington!
Happy Birthday, Em! We love ya!

Politics Schmolitics
Keith here. Is it just me or is anyone else already tired of this election season? I have to go for McCain. I don't think I can trust him to be a solid conservative and I don't like his immigration ideas or that campaign financing bill he co-authored. That said, he is a shining star next to the other two morons and he's a genuine American hero with REAL experience.
I am so tired of Obama. He has become a left wing Messiah. If you criticize him in any way you are a racist. If you criticize Hillary you are a sexist. What a joke. What is funny is that when Obama's supporters are asked to name one accomplishment of his they can't think of a thing. I have heard two people say "he's an African American" as though skin color is an accomplishment. IDIOTS. At least he has crashed Hillary's coronation. She must hate him so bad. I wonder how this will effect the Dem party long term. Because blacks or women will be mad if their candidate gets cheated out of the nomination.
I am not very optimistic when I think of our country's future. The American people have become weak and narcissistic. I blame the baby boomer gimme gimme generation and the spread of socialists and anti-Americans that have overrun our media and schools. Welcome to the Age of Stupidity. Ugh! Sorry I just needed to ramble and vent.
Sweet Candice
I have the best wife in the world. She is the best mom. I have not been very helpful at night with the baby. I want to help but at night I crash and I am dead to the world. Last night Remington screamed all night. No more Taco Bell for Candice. So there was the sweet mommy, comforting her newborn with dear old dad laying next to them, snoring away. I feel horrible when I wake up, I will take the kid downstairs and let Candice sleep. I haven't slept this deep since I was in high school.

The fellas and I...
are finally home after an unexpected extended hospital visit. Who was I kidding to think that we could just go pick up Remington? No, no, not so fast. I actually had the best labor known to womankind. I was induced at 6am, epidural at 7:30, then watched TV and played Mancala with Keith and even got to catch the end of Jeopardy! before going on to push for an hour, only to have the doctor nearly rip me off the table with forceps. At 5pm they decided an emergency C-section was needed and at 5:06pm little Remington was born!
I think we are adjusting well. I much prefer home to the hospital. Remington is still learning the difference between night and day and Keith and I are surviving on no more than two hour naps. Remington has pretty bad jaundice so he will spend the next 24-48 hours laying on a light box. Let's just say he isn't thrilled...

Welcome Remington Piper Sano
Well he has finally arrived. 7lb4oz, 20in. Big head. So big in fact that he wouldn't squeeze out so they had to do an emergency C-section at the last second. Candice is my HERO. She did a fantastic job. Here are some pics and a video clip. Sorry I can't type more, I need to get back to my baby boy. Thanks for all the love and support. It means a lot to us.

1+1=3?
Tonight Keith and I go to the hospital to retrieve Remington...man, I can only hope it will be that easy. Big thank you to Keith for coming home last night and keeping me company. He had to leave this morning at 5 and will be back in a few hours. We will keep you posted on how tomorrow goes. Hopefully, the next time I post it will be with baby pics! I have nearly finished packing, some of the most important things include Connect Four, Mancala, Jolly Ranchers, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I am off to finish getting ready, catch you later.

Power
I have been amazed time and time again by the cleaning power of baking soda. I have been struggling getting our smooth cook top clean. I don't like using a razor to scrape off burnt bits, and the expensive junk made for cleaning cook tops doesn't work and it burns my hands. I use baking soda to clean out our coffee maker, so I decided to make a thick paste with a little water to clean the stove. I was nearly knocked off my feet when all it took was a little buffing to get everything sparkling clean.
I got a little Arm & Hammer happy and cleaned the grout in the tub with more paste and an old toothbrush. It looks like new!
Instead of buying Drano, I pour baking soda and coarse salt down the drain and chase it with some white vinegar. Rinse when it stops bubbling.
Use it as carpet powder, especially to get pet urine stink out.
Baking soda is also in the laundry soap I buy.
I love using it instead of chemicals. It's a great comfort with baby coming in just a few days! Try it, you'll like it!

How obnoxious are you?
At the doctor's office today, I sat across from a couple and their toddler. The man kept going in and out of the office every two minutes, letting the 30 degree breeze in, LOUDLY chatting on his cell, while the woman taunted her child at every opportunity. This went on for a good 45 minutes, and I was grateful to be called back to a room. That is, until, the same couple was placed in the room next to me and I had to listen to the man's every word for a good 30 minutes. Do you people not have a built in censor that says: 'Hey, maybe you should shut up for JUST ONE MINUTE?' I swear, I have never been so annoyed, at least not in recent history. So please, people, take notice of how obnoxious you are in public.

Featured Recipe: Bev's Macaroni and Cheese
If you want some delicious comfort food, this is the recipe for you. Keith goes ga ga over this every time I make it. I love it, too. Not the healthiest meal in the world, but it is oh so tasty.

1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 cups milk
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
8 ounces dry elbow macaroni , cooked according to package directions
1. Melt butter in medium saucepan.
2. Stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper until smooth.
3. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk until smooth.
4. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until thickened (about 10 minutes).
5. Remove from heat.
6. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese until melted.
7. Combine cheese mixture with macaroni in greased 2 quart casserole.
8. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
